Donor Spotlight on Jim Zarling

By admin

For more than two decades, Jim Zarling has embodied the true meaning of philanthropy at TMC Health. A lifetime trustee of the TMC Health Foundation Board, a steadfast donor and event sponsor, and now a driving force behind the relaunch of ProTrades. Jim shares his time, talent, and treasure in ways that touch every corner of TMC Health. Since 2005, the Zarling family has made generous contributions to advance exceptional, compassionate care in Southern Arizona.

Most recently, the Zarling’s support made it possible for our TMC Pediatric Audiology team to acquire essential new pediatric equipment—technology that is already transforming the lives of children with hearing challenges. This investment has expanded access to high‑quality, timely diagnostic and hearing care, ensuring that young patients receive the support they need at the most critical moments.

For Jim and his family, this work is deeply personal. He shared, "46 years ago, the TMC NICU saved my daughter Jessica's life after she was transferred from St. Joseph's with severe complications. Thanks to the extraordinary care of Elsa Sells, Uwe Manthei, and the entire team, she survived." Years later, TMC again became a lifeline when Jessica faced breast cancer, providing her double mastectomy and follow-up care after she completed chemotherapy.

Jim added, "TMC has stood by us through our most challenging chapters. Supporting the TMC Health Foundation is our way of honoring the caregivers who gave our family more time, more memories, and more tomorrows. We are forever grateful."

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jim, Terri and their family. Because of their generosity, more children than ever are receiving the exceptional care and resources they need to thrive at TMC for Children. Their enduring generosity makes a profound impact on families across Southern Arizona.
